Banking points that have been used but cancelled

Hi, can someone tell me, if I have booked a room, but then cancel it - using 2019 points. Can I then bank the points or do I have to use them in 2019?
Thanks

You would need to cancel more than 30 days prior to arrival, and still be inside your banking window to bank them.

I’ve cancelled some tonight and think my banking window is June. So as long as I bank before then it doesn’t matter if I used them to book then cancelled? I do have some 2018 points, but presumably they are first used (and I’ll use all of them), so can bank what’s left nearer the time?

I have managed to switch to a standard view so lesser points, but may switch again at 7 months. So just wanted to check if I’d need to use them/rent them out or if I can bank?

Thank you

No, you won't need to use/rent them as long as you're inside your window to bank
