I got an insurance policy from the same place as we got our family one and then got the insurers to tie the two together. So for example blizzard and hotel is under 20ft of snow need all of party to be treated equally.

You can similarly do group insurance across whole party, he just does his own health bit and pays 1/4 or whatever his share is.

Not worried so much about him paying just want to make sure I get him good cover
Our insurance is with our reward bank account, wonder if we could get insurance for him through that?

Our bank won't add our grandchildren to the policy we have through our account. That doesn't mean to say that yours won't so I would ask.

I have to do theirs separately so usually go through either Holiday Extras or Essential Travel and they offer policies to cover them at various levels.

Remember if he has to use his insurance, and maybe be flown home early you may not be able to accompany him as your policy may not cover you to go with him.
Similarly if you needed to get home for an emergency then his insurance may not cover him getting back with you.
These are just two examples there will be more situations
It would be better on a group booking as these sorts would then be covered.

I’ve had to get my son travel insurance since he has been 18. I found the Money Saving Expert site a good place to start.

I think this is the most important issue.

Thanks never thought of this until mentioned, then it’s completely obvious
Will look at my options, thanks

We got a group booking as my son has a range of medical needs and if something happened would need someone with him, either to stay or to travel.
