Direct flights Manchester Oct/Nov

Can somebody help with my confusion; we have booked direct flights a couple of weeks ago for our dates 23rd oct - 9th November from gatwick with BA and will be driving down from Leeds for these as they were such a great price to pass up.

Our extended family are joining us on 26th Oct - 9th Nov and are wanting flights from Manchester direct as they are travelling with Young children...why are there no direct flights still from Manchester but theres plenty from London?

Does anyone know when there will be direct flights from Manchester for the above dates

I believe that BA release their flights a bit earlier than Virgin, and the return date of 9th November won't have been released yet as it'm normally 11 months out. So, they should start to appear next week.

No they don't, that's why prices can be higher from Manchester as there's less competition. With BA you have to fly down to London from Manchester so it's never appealed to me.

And going through Heathrow can be nightmare! Avoid if you can.

We have travelled Manchester to Heathrow and onto Canada twice in the last year and found it to be quick, easy and actually cheaper both times than flying direct from Heathrow to Canada

Parking is also cheaper and as Manchester is a lot closer for us the drive on the way back after a night flight was much easier
