We’ve just watched this tonight. Not really sure tbh. Was slow going but also was compelled to keep watching. Liked the styling. But really uncomfortable with the ending. I get that it was a Hollywood “happy” ending, but it feels like he is minimising the Bronson family crimes by pretending they didn’t happen. Don’t know ..

Edited to add
D’uh - I mean Manson family

You mean the Manson family crimes 😉

SPOILER ALERT!

The clue is in the title. "Once upon a time in Hollywood", it's an idealised version of history, "what if" the horrible real life version did not happen, even though we all know it did. Instead, we get to see the criminals get their just desserts, what they deserve to go through for what they did in real life. I was really concerned I was going to see a recreation of the horrible events, but instead got to see the ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈s suffer for what they did, in the most cathartic way and in way over the top fashion - making them pathetic and robbing them of their mark on history, making them forgotten and indeed giving a fairytale ending, making you wish it really happened that way. A bittersweet ending rather than a happy one.

I was looking forward to this and went to see it in the first week it was out.

What a waste of 2+ hours and I am glad it was free as I have a limitless card and into profit by this point.

\it just seemed pointless IMO - I am glad some people enjoyed it as we cannot all like the same thing- I still love Pulp Fiction.

I absolutely loved it. Watched it on a plane journey last week. Loved the episodic story telling and the ending. As others have said, it’s meant to be a fairy tale at the end - what should have happened. I can’t get over how much Damien Lewis looked like Steve McQueen.
