I’ve nothing to add, reading this with tears flowing.
Grief is two parts, firstly dealing with the loss and secondly the remaking of life.
Sending you all lots of love 💕

Well done for getting that first day over.
I can’t comprehend what it would be like if our DD was taken away from us.
Unimaginably horrible.
Just do your best to remember the happy times.
Take care x

There is no right or wrong answer, do what is right for your family. I am so sorry for your loss. My Dad died in May and we went to Florida in June as it was booked, it was not the same but I am glad we did it. I hope you find peace and enjoy your memories during this holiday

I don’t know if this would help or make it harder, but I know some people have used something like this to help heal, and ease and enjoy the time. Take something special of hers, I know she was 15 but even 15yo could have a favourite stuffed toy. Take photos of it either on its own or with the family in her favourite places/rides/character meets. Like bringing her spirit along with you.

For some that helps, for others it may feel wrong. I just thought I’d put it out there.

Grief is very personal, and there’s no right or wrong way. The people who said the ‘firsts’ are the hardest are right. But in no way does that mean the rest are just fine, they still hurt hard, but not quite as soul wrenching.

You do you. Don’t worry what anyone else says. Celebrate her memory in a place she loved with you all. And if it’s too hard, don’t stay. But I’m sure she’d want to see you happy.

Hugs

Hi folks, just checking in...

Well that’s the four parks done. MK was the hardest, I’m not a huge fan of the park but I do find it emotional at the best of times...

Then we did DHS, that was a good day. AK was also good too, rode Avatar for the first time, wow, what an experience...

Today was Epcot. We dined at Chuys first. On arrival at the Epcot car park DD2 announces that she’s lost her AirPods! Probably left them at Chuys... so we drove back there with little hope of finding them. However... the guy who cleaned the tables had found them, put them in his pocket. The manager asked around for me and located this guy and promptly handed them over. Well I could have burst out crying!

So back to Epcot, I had a rough moment on Soarin, only to be expected as we played this music at DD1’s ‘Celebration of life’ service. However we did enjoy it and so rode it again... second time was much better.

We then jumped on Spaceship Earth on the way out, first time I have had to sit next to an empty seat, that was tough and hard to handle.

Anyways, all in all I am glad we chose to do the parks. As tough as it was at times we did still enjoy ourselves, such a confusion of feelings!

So we have a few days left, we have a few malls planned as well as Disney Springs...

Thank you for all of your lovely messages, wishing you all a love filled, peaceful Xmas. Give the ones you love an extra long squeeze...

Ali xx

Aww, hugs. Thanks for sharing. I’m glad it was ok, even if it was emotional. Thinking of you.

My daughter left her ray bans in Chuys. Went back the day after and they were there! This holiday must have been a roller coaster of emotions for you all. Glad you been able to take some positives from it.
