Thanks will do . Just googled abs found places in our town, called the secretary and described everything, she said if it's an operation you'd still have to see doctor in Jan as they like to see and assess their patient themselves.
I.dont think we could afford private surgery!

I can't offer any more assistance regarding the injury than has already been given, but I can speak for the mental health side. After a number of tests I was diagnosed with anxiety caused by work-related stress. I was referred for counselling and have been placed on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) sessions.
My suggestion would be for your husband (if he hasn't already) to see if he get some CBT sessions. You can sometimes self-refer to a local NHS provider (you can in Lincoln) and the following website provides a link to a search nationwide (as well as providing an overview of CBT): nhs.uk/conditions/cognit...l-therapy-cbt/ I hope that helps your husband.

The suggestion is to see the dr for the initial consult now, rather than wait until January and then, if surgery is required, you arrange that via the nhs but your DH will be on the list from now, instead of from after the appointment in mid January... you are just trying to get ahead of the game a bit and shorten the wait time for surgery. It may be of course that surgery isn’t necessary and the consultant recommends injections or some other treatment. Steroid injections privately cost around £130.

Your husband's stomach pains may be a symptom of his depression, I had severe abdominal pain when I had depression.
My only suggestion regarding the consultant is to call his/her Secretary and ask if your husband can be placed on the cancellation list, he maybe lucky and receive a referral date a little sooner. I wish him well. |

Thanks I'll do that tomorrow.
Had a price of of £200 for private consultation but that's only an initial meeting, they will probably have to do tests and scans which is a lot more. Also difficult as he started a customer's shower room Monday and hasn't been able to go back yet due to the pain and the side effects from anti d.. 🙁

Hello there, when DH first started with this illness after a fair bit of faffing with the NHS we paid to see a private neurologist. We had to find one ourselves which we did via the Spire hospital websites. Then the GP had to send a referral.
It worked for us as the specialist admitted him to one of his NHS beds and got a diagnosis. You're not going to like this but is there anyway your husband could stop working for a while? I know it wouldn't be easy, I'm self employed myself, at least the stress might ease and give him time recover. |
