So apparently they have been messaging for two weeks, just messages. I feel sick. He said he didn’t think it was a big deal! Why would you encrypt a message if you had nothing to hide, I feel like I have been punched.

How do you decrypt them? He says he doesn’t know how.

So how is he managing to read them then ? what I meant was he needs to show you the messages , I don't understand how they are encrypted , I just assumed he has done something in settings so that only he can read them , he needs to change it to let you see the messages to put your mind at ease .

I wouldn't know how to encrypt messages but whatsapp messages are in encrypted and it says so at the top of the message thread. I think it's to stop hacking. Thing is if its a whatsapp thread and it's his you SHOULD see all the previous messages in that thread. It doesn't just encrypt the message so you can only read it the once, you would see the whole thread.
