Back yesterday - musings of a whistle stop break
No highs and lows, just thoughts 😊
In short, 5 nights celebrating DW 40th doing Disney only, flying out Sunday and back Friday. Direct flight from Manchester, boarded on time but plane needed de-icing so took off nearly an hour late. Made up time to only arrive 10 mins late but meant we landed after the Gatwick flight which meant a long immigration queue. Still managed to get to Epcot for soarin and food though. It was a couple of firsts for us. First December trip and first onsite stay at art of animation. Now a convert to both to be honest. Parks relatively quiet compared to our usual Easter trips and purely for transport convenience for onsite. Skyliner straight to hotel meant that although it was similar overall time to get to epcot/Hollywood studios as the bus it was a much nicer experience. Mickeys Xmas party was fantastic, I read another thread that people feel Disney sell too many tickets for these and while it was very crowded for the parade and fireworks the queue times were a lot shorter, seven dwarves was 45 mins max all night and all the others were less than 15 - this was on a sold out night too. We left straight after the fireworks, next time when DD is older well likely stay till midnight when it is even quieter. Weather was better for us redheads too. A pleasant high 70s during the day for shorts and t shirts (quite funny getting comments from the locals as to ‘aren’t you cold’ while they walked round in jumpers and/or jackets). First thing in morning and when the sun went down meant jumpers for us though. 5 nights was manageable but very tiring so won’t do such a short trip again. Now to start the 2 or 3 year countdown to the next trip 😊

Sounds like you both had a great time!
I’ve done 7 days once I doubt if I would ever do less than that!

Both me and DW are redheads (although I’m now grey) so DD had no chance😊
It was quite nice only having to put suncream on a couple of times in total over 5 days compared to every couple of hours at Easter 😁
