Extension on banked points

Having just spoken to MS, they are now extending (by another year) and 2019 banked points with use years before June for international members.

Hope this helps someone.

My UY is December, but they’ve said if I can’t travel in July as planned they will take a view (as I can’t go after July due to school holidays).

Sorry Helen can you offer some clarity.

So if you have a use year of February and 2019 points, banked into 2020, (so expired Feb 21) those points will now expire Feb 22? Bit strange they have announced this now after these points have effectively expired already. Shame people were not told earlier so they didn’t rent out/ put into RCI etc.

On Facebook (uk dvc members) someone reported their May 2019 banked points had been extended.

I was a little sceptical so contacted MS and asked, I was told by “Todd” that international guests with use year ending may (or earlier) can have banked pointed extended by a year.

Several others have reported having their points extend on same Facebook post.

Not sure what protocol is for points which have expired already.

My points are December, but I will certainly be asking for the same to happen for my points if I can’t travel in July.

Suppose it’s great news if you still have some of those points left and can get to use them the next 12 months or so.

I wonder if this also means that the 50% rule is being extended? Currently we are ok but if Sept is cancelled & then PlanC becomes Plan D or E then we have a whole year of points due to expire Jun '21

I also read this yesterday on a FB group.

I went onto chat, also spoke to Todd who told me my points that are due to expire May 2021 have been extended to May 2022.

My 2019 banked points were due to expire end of Feb 2021 and they extended to August but can’t see me getting there so wonder if that means they will extend further?

I would imagine they will review on a monthly basis.

Ooh fingers crossed for Aug use year too
I only have 40 points to use before 1st Aug 2021 but will be very handy to bank over as lots planned for late 2021 ( fingers crossed ) and defo 2022
