Split stay - what would you do?
Looking for some wisdom from fellow Dibbers.
We are currently booked to stay at CBR at the end of August for 2 weeks but now looking at at the option of switching resorts and doing a split stay for similar price. Would you rather do 11 nights at POFQ and 3 nights at poly Or 9 nights at POFQ and 5 nights at Beach club Or Stay at CBR for the whole 2 weeks. We have stayed at FQ before and loved the resort especially with littles so more just wondering what to pick out of BC or Poly? Or if should just stick to our original plan of CBR Our children are 2,4,11 and the grandparents are coming along with us too. What would you do? |

I'll go against the majority and say Poly, because I much prefer the MK area to Crescent Lake. But if you like Epcot, I think the POFQ/BC split makes more sense.

Thank you. Such a hard decision as both resorts are on our bucket list to do and we have not stayed at either resort area before, beside a previous 1 night stay at BLT, so not sure what area we would prefer. We normally stay at a springs area hotel - POFQ, OKW and our last holiday before being cancelled for Covid was supposed to be at SSR.
Just wondering if a longer stay at Beach club trumps 3 nights at Poly. |

We’re doing split stay Yacht Club and Poly so we can walk to Epcot and DHS while we’re at YC and walk to MK while at Poly (we’ve done that before so know it takes nearly 30 minutes).
Being able to walk to the parks is so worth it for us as I don’t like waiting around for Disney transport. Being so close works great at Crescent Lake because you can pop into Epcot for dinner or a stroll around World Showcase as it’s so close. And you can also get ahead of the masses for DHS which is priceless with Rise crowds. Being at a monorail resort is great as you don’t have the TTC faff to get to MK, although the resort monorails can be infrequent which is one reason I prefer to walk. At Christmas we waited just over 10 minutes for one in the morning and then it was slow to depart Grand Floridian too which can be a pain when early entry for on-site guests is only 30 minutes. There’s also boats though. I personally would choose POFQ and then Poly because the Poly is my favourite hotel. We were there over Christmas and leaving the resort was the saddest thing about coming home for me. It’s just lovely, especially with the refurbished rooms.

We stayed a week at the Poly when my daughter was 3.5 - the Poly main pool was SO busy, including the splash area for the kids. We were there twice but for short periods only as she really didn't like how busy it was and much preferred the 'boring' Oasis pool! I'd go for 9 nights Port Orleans and 5 nights Beach Club too. The pool there will have something to offer for all ages, and it's so nice to be able to stroll into Epcot in the evenings for some food/fireworks etc. In fact, that's very close to what we're planning for next Christmas - 13 nights Port Orleans FQ and a one-night splurge at Beach Club for New Year's Eve lol!
