A Marvel Halloween at DLP
I thought I’d do a short trip report for our Halloween half term trip to DLP as a couple of dibbers thought this may be helpful for their upcoming trips (no pressure then!) 😬
I will keep it to one thread rather than an index. There will be 3 of us travelling, Me-Helena 39 , dh- Chris just turned 41 and dd-Izzy 10, on the 25th October and returning on the 30th via the Eurotunnel. We will be staying at the Dover premiere inn the night before and as my mum lives nearby. We will be taking them out for dinner and then making a visit to her adorable Rottweiler puppy Tinkerbell (she thought it would be a hilarious name for a soon to be giant pup) 😂 We will be staying at Magic circus for 2 nights when we arrive and then Hotel New York- The Art of Marvel for the following 3 nights. Magic circus (not my photos) Hotel New York Our plans include the Paris catacombs on our first full day (As above and so below, anyone? ) and then the parks for the rest of the time with trips to our favourite supermarket Auchan to stock up on goodies and a good nosey around the big Primark in Val d Europe. We are planning to venture into the outlets this trip but we are not holding our breath for any good deals!. We love food, cocktails, rides and shopping and we are DLP veterans who always love a trip in the autumn/ winter as a post WDW break. Will update as I go along 👍🏻 Edited at 08:08 PM. |

So with the news today I’ve just had a look to see if anywhere has a day 2 LFT available yet and haven’t found one.
I’d have thought companies specialising in these travel tests would have been ready to go for then the announcement came in but seems not.. 😬 Will keep checking throughout the week and post when I find some and the prices. |

The way i have read some articles is they will not be available until the 22nd which is pretty rubbish if your going prior to that but coming back after ! Hopefully some start appearing before.

Hi Helena I’m interested!
We are booked for May, Newport Bay for 4 nights. It will be our first Disney trip with our grandaughter who will be 4, hoping for Florida the following year! Been to DLP once before 12 years ago and hated it, just spent too much time comparing it to Florida. Going with a different mindset this time though. We are flying Air France from Newcastle. Not a big shopper so won’t be doing any of that, DIL wants to take Grandaughter to see the Eiffel Tower, think we will just stay in the parks and do the ‘big’ rides . Wow that puppy is cute! |

Oh lovely, have stayed at Newport bay our last few trips and apart from it being incredibly warm in the rooms we haven’t had a problem although the heating thing won’t be an issue in may!
Yeah I think you have to treat it as a different experience altogether but some of the rides are much better than their Floridian counterparts! I remember us talking about the train for your dd so I’ll include that for you so it should be straight forward for them next year. Tink is absolutely adorable but I haven’t seen her for a while so bet she’s huge now! Thank you for reading and replying, I really appreciate it so I’ll complete the trip report just for you 😂 |

Hi Helena I'm following along too as we'll be over there next week too! Staying in the Newport Bay Hotel so really hoping all will be well after the strikes last week... Have not been able to find out anymore. So pleased to see today that lots of entertainment coming back We also need to organise the new day 2 LFTs. Have downloaded the app and have our declarations ready to sign so think we are ready to go! Really hoping for it to be dry for the week! Have a wonderful time

Wow that is so kind of you! Yes my DIL is adamant that she wants our grandaughter to see the Eiffel Tower so the train details would be really helpful!
Just watched a Clairytale latest vlog, they got the train to Paris and just walked to their hotel near the Louvre, but it didn’t look close to the tower. Someone else has kindly given very good instructions but would def appreciate your input. I wanted to stay at the Marvel hotel but we were worried that some of the art might be a bit scary for the little one. My son suggested he and his dad stay there while me and my DIL and GD stayed at Newport Bay! That didn’t go down to well! |

ps have just told DD17 about the big Primark and she has looked up Val D'Europe - an essential day out apparently! We won't have a car so any other ideas of how to get there?

Ah thanks 😊
Yes it’s great news isn’t! I’m so pleased buffets are back and the mickeys scary surprise I think it was called but not quite sure what that is! I think you’ll be fine by next week as like you I haven’t heard anything more about the strikes so hopefully it’ll be back to normal for you 🤞🏼 Still patiently waiting for the 22nd for the LFT’s too and trying to find the best price as it’s something I really begrudge paying for but it could’ve been worse 😂 Looks like it should be mild with a slight chance of rain for us so hopefully it stays that way. Really hope you have a great time too! |
