This has reminded me of stuff I have in the cupboard - I have a mismatch of china I use as an afternoon tea set - DD loves a good afternoon tea!

We don’t have any.
For some reason my mum sent all of my grandmother’s china to auction. I’d have loved some of it. She had an entire understairs cupboard full of antique tea and dinner sets. She loved them!
I do have Christmas China though.

Oh yes! I have my mother's dinner service which was a wedding gift in 1952, and it is still complete! It brings back many memories and I love to take it out at Christmas.

Its a service for six, with three plate sizes, soup dishes, two serving bowls, two serving platters and a gravy boat. I cant believe it has made it to almost 70 years with no breakages. I hope I haven't jinxed it now

I think it might be the same design as one of your plates, OP... is yours made by Alfred Meakin? Sorry for the awful picture, but it has been stored away up high for next Christmas.

Lola's Reviews
Hotel Reviews: 1
[QUOTE=Nickynoonoo;15258769]Last year my husbands grandparents died and his family asked me if I would like the 200 piece dinner set his nan had collected!

I’ve got quite a bit of the contrast pottery. Bought in the 70’s
When I got my first flat. Started with 2 plates, 2 bowls and 2 side plates. I saw some in a museum and was amused as I’d had my breakfast on one of the plates that morning. A classic design
