The cold worries me. Although I think we get protective clothing with our package, did you take your own and do you have any specific tips on what to take/wear other than obvious things I’ll think of?

Thanks.

We went for a week on an Inghams holiday to Levi.
I know on alot of the dedicated Santa packages they drive you straight to a warehouse for your clothes on the way from the airport, but on the inghams ski holiday we had to walk to the hire shop in town from our log cabin.
That first night it was -35C, my 5 year old daughter cried her eyes out all the way on the sledge despite salopettes, puffer jacket, hoodie, tracksuit bottoms, thermal base layers, gloves, scarf, balaclava, hat. When we got to the hire shop they took her into the drying room (like a big sauna) to warm her up then told us to put her hired ski suit on top of even her coat and salopettes. This was not the norm though, it was cos she was on a sledge rather than walking, she got more cold than the rest of us, and also that was a particularly cold night, the rest of the week it just got warmer and warmer. At -25 she didn’t need the salopettes and coat, at -16 it felt quite tropical and she didn’t need the hoodie, it actually got up to +4C at the end of the week and we were sweating.
So what you need is lots of layers… thermal base layers (sports direct do them cheaply), tracksuit bottoms (you don’t need to look smart at all), jumpers, coat and maybe salopettes if you aren’t going straight for hire clothes or if you have very little ones. Hat, balaclava, thermal neck thing and some really good quality ski gloves or mits (talking £30-40 type). And thermal socks.
Apart from that first night we were never cold even at -25. The hire clothes and snow boots were amazing.
