Figment, Queues and THAT Popcorn Bucket

Having scoured the forums today, I can't find any chatter about the queues for the Figment Popcorn Bucket.

I personally think Figment is one of the vastly under-used WDW icons but then EPCOT is my favourite Disney Park, so I'm really pleased to see him getting a moment of fame.

But 5-6-7 hours queuing? I genuinely can't think of anything I would queue that long for... so come on Dibbers, did anyone queue or get the bucket or have photos of the queue.

The longest queue we saw in Universal in December was for Hagrids but that only got up to about 110 minutes. The longest we queued was about 25 minutes for Men in Black...

What are your queueing limits for?

Already on E Bay and being bid on for over $1000.

For a bucket. Dear God the World has gone mad.

Hilarious.

At least those in the queue are not in the queue for Test Track or Soarin'.

I’m sure there were some genuine collectors vying to get one on the opening day of the festival but expect the majority were resellers hoping to profit off them or vloggers/bloggers looking for some clicks.
Seems to be Disney’s marketing strategy these days to sell limited time merchandise at over-inflated prices.
Why did they only have it for sale at one location knowing it was a sought after item?

Merch is insane right now. I think it would have been the exact same scene no matter who was on the bucket. People either feel the need to show off on social or want to make a quick buck.

I waited about 20-30 minutes (pre-opening) for the Orange Bird sipper on its initial release day in 2019. I regret nothing, my favourite park character. Frozen was down anyway and they were the only two reasons I was in Epcot, so wasn't missing anything else by queueing for it. Although by the time the booth opened, the line was at least two hours long - don't think I would have joined that.

I have never queued for anything in a Disney park for more than 45 minutes and would be unlikely to.

I know there are genuine collectors out there, but many people just buy these to make big bucks on ebay. Disney should at least limit purchases to 1 or at the most 2, surely.
