Under 16 vaccination pass

My youngest is 13 and fully vaccinated so if I understand it correctly I can get a covid travel pass for him but cant get a digital one.
So my question is as they only last 30 days should I wait to request it untill we are within 30 days of the end of our holiday or is it OK if it runs out half way through?

Good question. Thanks for posting this thread.

My youngest got his second vaccine yesterday and we are hoping to go away half term. Wondering if I should leave it until we’re within 30 days of our return date?

Do you just ring 119? I’m also worried that they won’t send it or his second won’t be registered (took weeks to get his first officially registered).

I’m worrying a lot at the minute!🙈

I thought it was a letter covering this age group which wouldn’t have an end date.

I need to look into it we are going away over Easter and will need pass for our DD aged 15

It says that it only lasts 30 days. Is that just for other age groups?

I phoned today and they said it can take 7 days to arrive and it only last for 48hrs, this is for under 16s, seems pointless to me if it only last 48 hrs.

I was thinking about this today as dd gets her 2nd jab on Saturday and we travel 3 weeks later.

It’s not a requirement for entry back into the uk so it must only be needed for wherever you’re travelling to.

If it’s not needed for venue entry then it would only be necessary for outbound travel date.

If it’s needed for venue entry it could actually prove difficult for anybody travelling for longer than two weeks as you’d need to order it early enough to guarantee delivery in time but last long enough.

Don’t know why they can’t just have the pass on the app or lengthen the expiry.

Hadn’t thought of that with regards venue entry. It would prove difficult if going for a longer period of time as we are in the summer. I think in the states though, most places accept your little blue card so will most likely accept the letter just by looking at it. My eldest received an nhs covid pass by letter and I don’t remember seeing an expiry date. I’ll have to ask him to check it.🤔
