Virgin Refund Request Email?

I have just been sent an email by Virgin Atlantic Refund Team, but it isn't for my booking.
It is for booking Ref COF6NO. Just on the off chance that the booking belongs to a Dibber & they haven't received the email themselves. I will forward the email if it does.
Well done Virgin - On the ball!

Update:
I received an email yesterday saying that my refund has been processed & will be paid within 14 days.

Unfortunately, it is again for Ref COF6NO! This time there was an attachment showing the amount, and the names of the passengers - GDPR anyone?! ? Had an online chat with VA, but they were so blasé about it.

Still waiting for my own refund BTW.

I have also Received an email from virgin re cancellation refund with incorrect booking reference. Waiting to hear response from virgin via WhatsApp

There are lots of reports of scam emails from Virgin all over various forums. Might this be one?

Didn't think of that. It does look legit, but several links to Twitter/YouTube/WhatsApp/etc, so they might take you elsewhere I suppose.
I've sent Virgin a message via official means & will wait for their response.
I'll update this when I know more.

I have not heard of any scams but My email has no virgin logos & the date of the email does not tie in to any correspondence I have had with virgin re a refund. The will see what virgin have to say

On one of the other threads some is suggesting the login issue may be a result of a cyber attach. No idea if this is true. Or if it is, maybe email details have been compromised.
If only Virgin would actually communicate on these issues and allow customers to get answers to questions in a reasonable time (couple of hours). What a mess.

Looking at the links on the email again, they all start with http & none of them with https so is probably a scam after all!

My email received has the correct booking reference and the correct booking date.

So it should be legit. But sharing of incorrect booking references is not a good sign maybe more indicative of a technical fault or a cyber attack.

Virgin need to provide some answers. My advice is be wary of anyone seeking your bank details for a refund in the coming days. Many of us will happily dish that detail out if we think it's Virgin finally refunding us!

I too received an acknowledgement email from Virgin today but for a claim I had made, i.e. correct booking number etc, with reference to the links starting with http, on my booking ref back in January the links in that email all start with http? and are exactly the same as the email I got today.
