I would not be paying my money to a holiday right now. I know you will probably get your money back if the holiday is cancelled. There are other factors to consider in my opinion, firstly you are putting your money where you cannot instantly get it if you need it. There are still a lot of people who could lose their jobs and if unfortunately you are one of them or your husband or partner you may need that money (hopefully this won't happen) but when you see huge companies like BP in difficulties it make you think. Keep your money in your pocket and wait book when it is safe to do so and you know you are definitely going.

Getting Excited

Paid deposit today for a BA flydrive for July next year. Don't need to pay anything further until June 21. I'm comfortable enough for it to sit there and see what happens, especially as it's only a deposit and I have ATOL protection with it.
As others have said, if everything isn't okay by next year, then we'll have bigger problems to worry about. |

I don't think your Mad either... at the moment things are adapting and some Holiday Companies will be trying to change Terms & Conditions to cover every situation, so people can book with confidence and be assured their Money is safe... it's just finding those companies that will make you confident that if things go wrong you know the Money is safe or able to be returned as quickly as possible... I think by next September things will be a lot clearer and hopefully better although Holidays will be slightly different to what we were used too lol

We used staysure for next year and they told us what they told you, excellent company to insure with. We called to double check. 👍

Nope not mad! I booked at the end of April for Oct 21... I’ve paid over half off already I’m so glad I did it now as if we left it much later we wouldn’t have been able to book our October dates until Disney decide to release them.

We would go next year if we didn’t do Disney. The restrictions in the parks are what worries me not the travelling.

Staysure are no different to other providers except it does appear some of their telephone operators are confusing people. I’m fully expecting lots of posts about invalid claims on here in a few months
There website is better. It clearly states you are not covered for cancellation if you book after FCO advice is put into place if it remains in place when you are due to travel. You are at the mercy of provider policy for rebooking etc. |

I fully understand that and would have an identical view in the same situation.
We have had two California’s shut down. We only intended a single day in Universal and a single day at Warner bros. To scrub those two days would not have greatly impacted on our vacation(s). With the above in mind, provided hotels and restaurants were open. We would happily have gone ahead with our vacations in both March and August of this year. I really do not care about covid, never have, have had it and gone back to work in our Hospital. As for 2021. I will be booking for August and will be going if I can get there... theme parks or otherwise. They don’t greatly matter to us in the scale of things. We are more in to seeing sights, Scenery, culture etc, having had the good fortune to visit Orlando 10 times in recent years and Disney Cali also.
