Which aircraft with Virgin?
Hello we are looking at flights return lhr to lax
There seem to be two aircraft, the 787 Dreamliner which I have been on and the new A350 Would you choose the new aircraft or keep with the best arrival times? The A350 is the later flight Thanks Edie |

we picked the earlier arrival time for our trip in February as I'm driving to Disney after the flight.
we arrived on the later flight last time and the traffic was horrendous. |

Please please don’t choose a flight for a specific aircraft. They can change, and often do.
In economy they’re much the same. Upper is much better on the A350, brand new suite that isn’t on any of Virgins other aircraft. Premium is better on the 787, as the new Premium in the A350 is a lot narrower than before.

Thanks
I am on the verge of booking reward flights so not sure I will be able to choose anyway, will have to take what’s available I think |

Book the earlier one - the arrival means you totally miss rush hour else you will need to atleast double your time travelling from LAX. I was in LAX Sunday and with the extra security and works going on there it took me over an hour from getting of the ramp to outside T2 - and that was Sunday morning ! It really can feel it can take hours to go no where there

I have just debated this albeit with BA rather than virgin. Twice now we have had reward flights to LA and both times now have gone with the earliest flight there rather than picking the aircraft.
On the way home we have went with the best reward flight class rather than aircraft. |

I would go for the earlier flight time, in my opinion the aircraft your on is completely irrelevant as its only a way of getting there.

Id definitely go for the earlier flight, after a long flight and queues at security the last thing you'll want is to be stuck in rush hour traffic.

I didn’t get a choice in the end as wanted reward flights
We are on the later plane arriving at around 7pm so by the time we have been through customs I hope rush hour traffic will have gone Thinking we may stay at an airport hotel or more likely Manhattan beach for the first night anyway so should be fine |
