I wouldn’t say great, but record stores are hard to find nowadays. We found one called Normal Records about a half mile from our hotel in the Gaslamp district. It’s at 15th and Market. Not sure I’d make a special trip there but if you’re in the area...

Hi, are you looking for mainly new vinyl albums or older, used albums? Most record shops in San Diego sell both new and used vinyls. I can't think of any record shops that sell just new albums, but some of the Target department stores have started selling vinyl. I don't think their selection is big, though.

My personal favorite record shop is Lou's Records in the city of Encinitas, which is about 30 minutes north of San Diego. Encinitas is a great little beach town with an old hippie beachtown vibe, worth a day trip there.
