Car keys

anyone ever had any trouble with car keys.

When you pick the car up the key and a spare are attached with pretty much a ball and chain.

i was wanting to snip the wire and only carry one key around with me, (never understood why you would have both on the same thing in case you lose one)

just wondered if when you hand them back have the hire company kicked up a fuss?

Before we had the villa DH used to wander down the tool aisle in Walmart and use the wire cutters

I used to nip into Walmart and use their wire cutters to split the keys. But I have found in the last couple of years that there has only been one key.

I agree. I don't think I have had 2 keys for the last 2 or 3 years. Weird.

I’ve had keys the last two or 3 times but all 3 were brand spanking new about 7 miles on the clock

Can’t recall the last time I actually had a key with a car hire. Think they are increasingly the exception. Loving the using the cutters at Walmart idea mind.

I've had a few hires lately with only one key.

Then in August I was back to Walmart to try out their snippers again. I always take the metal ring off a keyring with me so the keys are back together when I return the car.

Snipped the wire loads of times - no issues.
