Linking hotel to MDE - Booked with BA

Evening all, hoping I’ve put this in the right place...

I booked my holiday to WDW with BA (slightly regretting this now!) - so I have booked the flights and Hotel with them (Disney All Star) however I bought my ticket (14 day ultimate) straight from the Disney website.

I have had no issue linking my ticket to MDE - it’s showing up nicely! I’ve also made a couple of ADR (which I realise will now be cancelled)

I’m not going until October - if we can!
My MDE app is not letting me link my Disney hotel reservation. I booked in January, so it’s been ages. Tried it again today. 10 digit code, my name, tried with the title in brackets as the email suggested, nothing.

Has anyone else had this?
The BA website stated that, unless I book my Disney ticket with them, I wouldn’t be able to book FP until 30 days despite being in a Disney Hotel. That probably isn’t going to be an issue now anyway and some internet searching found that not to be true.

I’m a bit cautious of calling the number they give because they’ll be swamped. Has anyone else had issues linking when they haven’t booked directly with Disney?

My main concern is obviously the news that parks will now need a reservation and that Disney will prioritise current bookings. I only have the ticket showing not the hotel. I don’t know how far in advance they will be setting bookings out for, this may not be an issue in October but I don’t want to risk missing out if we are able to travel.

You should I believe be able to get a Disney reservation number and then enter it and the hotel goes on MDE. You can buy your ticket anywhere, then get FP at 60 days.
However that may be academic re fast pass as at the moment there is no fast pass and no one knows if and when it will ever come back.
They’ll be introducing a new virtual queue, I’m guessing based on Maxpass type technology or something written for MDE or maybe even the new Genie app.

You should be able to link the hotel though as I say. Maybe call Disney themselves and see if you can get your reservation number.

I completely understand about FP! My guess is they are scrapping those due to reduced capacity (so less wait time anyway) and probably wanting to use the additional queueing space it will open up.

We have the same issue and we booked both park tickets and hotel through BA, also for October. The reference number has linked the park tickets In MDA but not the hotel. I posted on here a few months ago and it was not an uncommon issue. Someone else posted they’d called BA and managed to get a 12 digit reference number which works in MDA. I was planning to do the same closer to the time but that was before Covid. Don’t fancy my chances getting through to BA at the moment :-/

Same issue for October stay. Called WDW USA 0800 028 0778 today and wonderful cast member contacted someone else and reservation was found and added to myDisney.
