Am I right in thinking that when you say the building is not a full circle, that 11 o'clock is missing , meaning that your DD has to walk initially from 4 o'clock to 10 o'clock outside, then walking inside anti-clockwise from 10 o'clock all the way back round to 12 o'clock ?

That's barmy and I would just ignore them

Yup, that is right, and the outside bit is a path open to the car park, cant wait to see how that risk assessment was done! I just sit in recetion to wait for her teacher to collect her, strangely last two times the secretary hasnt challenged me, ( before she has been very confrontational, even taking my DDs name!) i have always been polite but firm with her telling her that we are fine waiting where we are.

I think there's been some valid points here both ways , but honestly regardless , if you have a concern or complaint they need to respond and explain their reasoning for this and if they don't or it's unsatisfactory then I think you're absolutely right to be annoyed . They haven't given you any reason why they chose this way to do things . its very odd how cagey they being and not just explaining why they do it this way . I'd be pretty peeved too I think . Just seems like your opinion or concerns aren't of interest to them

A few weeks into the new term everything is still the same, today had a letter outlining what they expect to happen, that the children in the special school classes are to use the entrance FURTHEST away from their classroom and not the main entrance. I am not happy with this and contacted MP, although not holding out much hope as he opened the refurbished reception area, so probably pals with the headteacher! Waiting outside and having to walk round in the rain is not acceptable for any child where there is an alternative, let alone vulnerable children.

Also i need to add that the carpark has no physical barrier from the parking spaces to the path where the children walk.

Flaming is an understatement!

Turns out MP seems to think that the situation is acceptable! Have got a meeting with governors and HT, then it will be back to MP, not holding out much hope as MP and HT of the school in question are buddies!
