out of date passport

Hi All,

Just curious - my friend had a trip booked to DLP for this weekend and only realised on the Friday night her daughters passport was out of date by a month. They were travelling Eurostar.
Has anyone experienced or knows of anyone that has managed to get through with an out of date passport if they've had there birth certificate etc with them as we are still part of EU?

Just curious on peoples experience with this? My friend never travelled she lost all her holiday money - I just wondered if people would have still chanced going?

thanks

Needs to be valid. The UK, despite still being part of the EU, is not in Schengen so the passport needs to be valid.

She wouldn't have got through without a valid passport so she definitely did the right thing. Such a shame though

Thanks!

I know she was absolutely gutted just one of those things, she forgot to check the date on her passport beforehand. The kids were devastated
