Sharing Villas with Friends and/or Family - Horror Stories

Hello,

Just may of gotten our trip for maybe 2019 extended into a larger family affair. I'm trying to find some of the horror stories that I'm sure I've read here to avoid situations occurring

I'm sure there was quite a good one a while back about either a work colleague/friend that tacked themselves onto a trip and then did nothing and were a nightmare, would like to just find that one again for the laughs if nothing else.

We are thinking about a trip with some really close friends in the best couple of years.

We've been away for weekends, but never a couple of weeks. It does worry me.

I think separate cars and accommodation that contains enough personal space is really going to be a big deal.

Back on topic. I've definetly thought that 2 cars at least are the way to go. Maybe 2 villas but that would bump up costs a lot I think and might be better to get a huge villa instead...

We went with family last year. No horror stories to tell but I strongly recommend separate cars.

We planning a trip too, definitely having separate cars did want separate villas too but looks like a big villa works out cheaper.

We had 3 villas and 3 cars was still a nightmare! Spent the 18 days trying to please everyone. Never did it again despite many hints. I really genuinely love my family but my I know now my Florida holiday is best when it is just the 4 of us!

We go my family of 4 and my BFF family of 4, kids are now 14,18,18,21 so adults really.
We have a 4 bed 3 bath villa and all go in on vehicle. I get terrible travel sickness so I drive, which I would rather do...
We do all get on really well and have been away a few times together. apart from things we have booked on specific days we decide on what we are doing the night before... have never had any fall outs yet!
You do need to choose who you go away with, with a lot of thought coz they can either make or break the holiday!

We've been twice and both times with friends. Both times my ex husband played up which I'm sure caused an issue for both the other families. First time we shared a car and villa would never share a car again ever! Second time two cars bigger villa split days up for each family. Still nearly had a bust up over toilet roll & cheese balls! It's somewhere I wouldn't share accomodation again.Then again my husband is now my ex and it was him that caused most of the issues😂 I would never ever organise anyone else's holiday again.

We go next March there is 11 of us all family in a big Villa but we have booked 2 cars. They are quite happy for me to do the planning as most haven't been before but i am worrying.
