How to Book DVC for Next Year?

We have 132 points left after this years holiday which would need banked before end of November, our use year is April.

Next year we want to go mid August which means we can book around 13th September for 2018.

So does this mean I now bank 2017 points and then draw on them to book this September for next years holiday? Or do I just go ahead in September and use 2017 points and 2018 points to book for 2018?

Sorry but I have myself confused again lol

Get those points banked now then they will be lumped together with your 2018 allocation.
It's the check in date that is important. You want to book for 2018 - August. If those points aren't banked then you'll lose them.

Thanks Geoff, so that means I bank now and when I come to book in September for next year all my points will be lumped together and I can use all or as many as I want.

If you bank points from this year into next, you will need to use them when you make next year's reservation as you can't bank points again which you've already banked from a previous year.

It sounds confusing but it's not really and when you make your booking online it shows you how the points are being allocated and will automatically take your banked points first

Thanks everyone for your help, I have just gone onto the DVC website and banked my unused points to use in 2018.
