Just scheduled a DVC tour...

Just called DVC to book a tour whilst we are at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Does anyone know what to expect? I already have quite an interest in it, but I know that I won't want to sign anything there and then we'll want to think about it all afterwards. Is it quite a hard sell?

Buy resale that is my advice!
Enjoy the tour though the guides will answer anything!

OP. No hard sell at all, quite the opposite of Time Share in Europe where they tie you to chairs and wont let you leave!

Go with an open mind, ask everything you can possibly think of and constantly run the maths. Then leave and buy resale, but don't tell them that!

I believe you may get a Fastpass or two at the end of it. There will be no pressure to sign anything - we took 7 years from doing a tour to buying in.

I did it at the start of July - no hard sell at all - though I did sign on the line!

We were told we would get $100 gift card and 3 anytime fastpasses just for attending which was a lovely bonus!

We joined in 2009, absolutely no pressure to buy in whatsoever. I don't like to rush into decisions so we took some time out to think about it and decided to go back the next day and go for it.

Its the best decision we ever made. x

No pressure at all. It's lovely actually, get a nice coffee and fast passes... they used to have an ice cream parlour at the exit which you could use. I don't know if that's still there though.

We first went on a tour in 1997 but weren't in a position to buy outright so wasn't for us then. Another 13 trips later we went again (without the kids) and asked everything we didn't know. Came home and bought a Saratoga springs resale. Was the right time and contract for us. Have had 4 trips since then in 2014 and looking forward to going with our boys and girlfriends next month and hopefully with grandchildren one day. Glad we took the time to make sure we understood it all. There was no pressure. We were there about 3 hours and got some fast passes too.

Thanks for the replies 😊 The tour will be at the preview centre at Kidani Village. Really I just want to get all the info and have a chat with them about it, glad to hear there's no hard sell as i'd be nervous about that!

The lady on the phone told.me about the Fastpasses which is a nice bonus, and also told they will drop us off to wherever we like on WDW property afterwards - most likely Disney Springs as thats what we had scheduled that day.

Interestingly it's already appeared on my MDE now it's booked!

Don't buy then and there. You'll almost certainly want to. Walk away, come home and research resale. You may decide resale is not for you in which case you can still buy direct (over the phone). You lose nothing in walking away

But, You can save absolutely massive amounts of money buying resale, and the "perks" you won't get are relatively few.
