US annual pass questions

Please can someone advise -

if you have a 14 day US ticket and upgrade to an annual pass on the last day of the 14 days, does the annual pass last a full year from then or from when you first used it?

Also are blackout days generally the same year on year (ie the seasonal pass blackout for July 2017 but not August?)

thank you!

It will (or should) revert back to the day of 1st use.

You are better off buying the AP in the 1st place - or upgrading immediately.
Don't forget to spend the extra $40 and get the preferred pass- you get free parking then as well as dropping the black out dates.

Depends whether you want to upgrade to a 2park annual pass or 3 park. The 3 park is about $100 more each. If you only want a 2 park annual pass and you have a 3 park ticket then upgrade once you have been to VB. The preferred passes cost us about $80 each. If your not bothered by blockout days then just get 1 preferred pass for free parking etc. Should be 1 year from when you first used your ticket.

The blackout dates are set for prime US school holidays as well as catch some of the rest of the world (which tend to be June/July rather than July/August) and they tend to be static.

It goes back to first day as you are paying the difference so, you will have "used" two weeks of your annual pass. So to maximise the benefits, its best to do it on day one.

You don't need to get the same tier of annual pass tickets, so if you want a preferred pass to get the free parking, discounts etc you can get one and the rest of the party can get seasonal passes as long as you don't want to visit in the blockout date periods.
