St Pete's area what to do?
Hi all for the first time we are having our second week at the beach rather than the parks. We are staying at treasure island, St Pete's and as we are quite an active family, I am now concerned we might want to do other stuff as well as lying on the beach. Anyone know of anything in the area that's worth a look with teenagers in tow.
We have a car and don't mind travelling. Any ideas anyone? |

Treasure Island has a civic centre, just by central avenue that has a 9 hole golf course (surrounded by water) and tennis courts.
Lots of places to hire boats, jet skis etc. And in the shops on central avenue by the beach is a scuba diving club |

Depends really what you are after. DS was about 13yrs when we stayed at BilmarBeach, he loved the upside down pier in St Petes, he also found the Dali museum fascinating. You don't have to be an art buff
EDA Johns Pass Village and Boardwalk is worth a visit too. Edited at 02:16 PM. |

I always recommend dolphinlandings for dolphin watch tours. They last about two hours and are very relaxing, and we always see plenty of Dolphins. There are always baseball games at Tropicana Field, and that is also a good way to pass a few hours. The Dali Museum is also in that area.

You could always visit Fort Desoto an take a look around the fort, followed by a walk on the beautiful beach, picnic or bbq and even do a bit of fishing off one of the two piers.

We went to Johns Pass at Madeira Beach and that has some cool shops near the pier and also runs dolphin watching and fishing trips off the pier. Really liked it there and wished we'd had longer than the few hours we had before the baseball game. Which I can also highly recommend!
