Florida beach resort & area for kids

What would be your preferred Florida beach area resort for the kids with things to do and places to eat etc As a couple myself and my husband have been to St Petes & it was so beautiful and quiet.

We love Anna Maria Island, very quiet and really is paradise. Not as much to do for the kids as clearwater though.

In St Augustine there are miles of beautiful white sand beach, 2 forts, an alligator farm, a pirate museum, a lighthouse, museums, beautiful old buildings, over 400 restaurants.
