What a scary experience for you. I hate those sorts of things, I brood on them for ages, but you seem to have done well at shaking it off.

Poot says the following paragraph contains sad news, but I wasn't sure what it was?

I brood on those things, too. And this time I let my agitation affect my plans for the next day (I feel embarrassed and rather childish about that...).

Like all of us though, I want to try NOT to pass on my flaws to my kid. My DH is great at shaking things off, I hope Poot takes after him in this respect!

DH always offers this helpful suggestion whenever I am "dwelling" on an unpleasant situation:

"Just stop thinking about it. That's what I do."

Poot's sad news was that the Twins lost the game, lol...

I'm not editing his posts, so they are occasionally...perplexing...

I realised about the sad news later. We used to live in Minnesota, so the Twins are one of our teams. (along with the Pittsburgh Pirates)

Did you live in Pittsburgh, too? Now THAT is a lovely ballpark, and Pittsburgh is a great town. Love the people there - it's the (landlocked) Liverpool of America!

Yes, I lived in (deep breath),
Omaha, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, New Jersey and went to university in Bethlehem PA. I went to high school in Pittsburgh so consider that my home town.
I lived in all those places between 1979 and 1991.

I knew 3 rivers stadium but I think it's been replaced now.

Wow! That's a lot of moving around...

"PNC Park" is home to the Pirates these days...oh, I LOATHE the now ubiquitous practice of selling stadiums' names to corporations...

Three Rivers Stadium was a much more poetic name...

I'm sorry that you had such an unpleasant experience in Baltimore, but glad that you both had a better time at the game. Thanks for sharing your report - I've really enjoyed reading it.

Thanks for reading and posting.

While I don't enjoy reading about other people's "bad times" - and I certainly didn't enjoy writing about my own, I do prefer trippies that are a little more fleshed out, and show that even on holiday - nobody's life is perfect.

I would have felt dishonest if I had left the bad stuff out.

Bless you for saying that!

I felt like a complete wuss the next day - I couldn't WAIT to get out of that town. I've gotten used to a softer life, I suppose...
