Advice Please - Louis Vuitton

Hi

I don't normally buy too much when we are in Florida just the expected Converse, Nike and Disney stuff etc.

This year there is a big birthday and I would like to get/or maybe just look at a Louis Vuitton handbag. Does anyone know of these are cheaper in the U.S. (dollar rates being rubbish and all) or as a rule are they generally cheaper here?

Thanks

It's a European brand, so probably more expensive out there. Best place to get one would be the store at Heathrow T5 if your going though that way?

Yes, I was going to suggest airport duty free, I've had some nice bargains this way.

Prices with LV tend to be globally set. We have actually found the US to be more expensive than the UK even when the dollar rate was good. Agree that looking before you go may get you a better deal.

As above, even when exchange rates are in our favour, high end/niche European brands tend to be more expensive in the US.

What about a Coach or Kate Spade bag? American brands so more likely to get a better deal there.

I was going to say look at Coach. Not only are they cheaper, you see fewer people with them over here!

The whole point of Louis Vuitton is that their products can never be discounted wherever you purchase them. It is estimated that over 90% of handbags labelled Louis Vuitton are fakes.

Unless you are used to purchasing such items you would be safer buying another brand.
