Mobile Everglades experience

We want to go on a Everglades airboat experience but I'm aware of the range of experiences. We want a private tour rather than a group one. Not keen on travelling down to Miami area as we have 3 kids - any suggestions or recommendations?

Hi,

Do you want to go to the Everglades or just do a private boat ride near Orlando?

Hubby is keen to do the Everglades. I'm personally not sure what the difference is.

Everglades are approx 175 miles away from Orlando.

But there are lots of airboat rides/experiences as others suggest below. We did Wild Willy's a few years back and it was a personal boat trip just for my family of 4.

Spirit of the Swamp is a great company. Their boats hold 6 people and you all get headsets and mics to talk to the driver/pilot and he's constantly giving you info about the wildlife, area etc. They aren't too far out of Kissimmee either and the run on Lake Tohopekaliga. Once you are out in the middle of the lake you don't see any civilization, just wilderness.

The Everglades National Park is right at the bottom of Florida, but the Everglades themselves actually starts at the Kissimmee River and goes south, so you will be going on the Everglades, just not the national park

No, didn't see any snakes. A few huge gators, a nest of baby gators, bald eagles, ospreys, snail kites, and loads of different wading birds. We did have a frog join us on the boat for a ride and some dragonflies.
