Best upgrade you have received?

Nice upgrade to 2 bed villa at OKW - especially as we paid a bargain price from a glitch in first place!

Know a few people who have had this on their first onsite stay - we have been back a few times, but no such luck. So it was probably worth it on their part...

A few years back I went to a spa hotel in Malta on my own for a 5 days. When I checked in, they told me that they were upgrading me. I didn't think that much about it until I got to my room. Wow! It was amazing. I had a private swimming pool on the roof terrace, a Jacuzzi and a steam / sauna shower thing. The room was about 3 times bigger than my house. I never wanted to leave.

That's the first (and probably only) time I've been upgraded.

When I went to Vegas with a friend a couple of years ago, we hired a car for our one free day to do some shopping and sightseeing, fully expecting to get a bog standard basic car.

They guy at the desk finished out booking, tapped a few keys on the keyboard and paused "Oh, the car I was going to give you isn't available. How about a free upgrade to a convertible mustang?"

Hell yes!

Apparently, it wasn't the best car for my friend to drive, as she's got really long legs and she found it a little cramped, but just for the novelty of driving round Vegas with the top down for a few hours, it was worth it!

We've had a few standard to garden views etc, but our best is this year's from SSR to BCV - mainly because this is our happy place and had it been available when we booked we would have actually have booked it.

A couple of years ago in New York we were upgraded from a standard room to a penthouse suite, beautiful!
Then when the taxi came to pick us up to take us to the airport, it happened to be a stretch limo!

We didn’t get upgraded but we did get chosen to march with the stormtroopers at HS when we were wearing our ‘we’re celebrating’ badges.

Best one for us was an upgrade from a standard room at Boardwalk Inn to a Concierge Garden Cottage . Fabulous staff and offerings in the club lounge.

2 Great upgrades, can’t choose between them.

The Sydney Hilton were over booked when I checked in and the put me into a taxi round to another hotel for the night. When I checked back into the Hilton next day they put me in a corner suite ! Unbelievable views down to the harbour.

My very first cruise last year I booked an outside cabin with window. Cabin with a balcony was about £600 extra and too much as I travel solo.

A few weeks before the cruise P&O emailed to say they’d upgraded me to a balcony cabin. Trouble is I won’t want anything less than a balcony if I do another cruise.

We had an upgrade on a Monarch flight to Turkey, only time we’ve ever turned left! Hadn’t prebooked seats and they had split us, DD was only 7 so man at booking desk said he’d try and sort something but didn’t know what until we got on the plane. A couple of families asked if they could move in there as there were spaces and cabin crew basically said, no, people have paid extra to sit in here! DH and I were chuckling to ourselves 😀
