Do you find it's best to book the Universal hotels direct with them or though a ticket website?

There are various ways to book Universal hotels - any hotel website, eg, Expedia, BA Hotels etc - you can also book using Tesco clubcard points (x3 value) via Hotels.com.

You can also book through cash back sites.

There is no "best" method - just what's cheapest at the time works for me

We’ve stayed in both for a night. Distance same. Hard Rock too noisy - music playing all the time - lol!
We wanted quiet afternoon after noise of parks!

Ooh thank you for letting me know about Tesco clubcard, will probably end up doing this if I have enough points!

Travel Republic used to only want a £1 deposit, thinks it's gone up to £10, balance due a few weeks before departure. Portofino is much nicer than HRH, worth considering if you can get it as cheap as another poster has suggetsed but its double the walking distance of HRH.
