Disney Boardwalk

Hi Dibbers!

Can anyone let me know their thoughts on Disney's board walk. Food any good etc?

Also, if we don't go to the parks but want to go to The Boardwalk for dinner, do we still need to pay for parking?

Thanks x

It's a great place to spend an hour or two wandering around and having a bite to eat and/or something to drink.

There are generally a few 'side shows' on the Boardwalk itself - juggling, magic that sort of things - as well as a variety of skill and luck games where you can win prizes.

Well worth a visit.

We're thinking about doing this too, what time does stuff start happening or is it on all day?

Thanks

You can go around the Boardwalk any time. You'll need to pay for parking, get a Disney bus there, or walk in from the international gateway at the back of Epcot.
The magicians etc come out on an evening.
Restaurants include ones in the Beach/ Yacht club, the alehouse, Italian, ice cream place and bakery outside the Boardwalk hotel, the ESPN Club and even the ones in Swan and Dolphin. ADRs may be required on an evening especially for popular spots such as Beaches and Cream.

We always visit Boardwalk at least a couple of times every holiday but because we never eat there we always park at DS and catch a WDW bus. Some people do say they just rock up without an ADR just to have a look round but as it's a very popular convention resort parking is always stretched. Dibbers regularly say that they've spend a few thousand $$ to stay there and can't get a parking spot.

We've had our ADR checked when parking at GF for Narcoossee's. The guy at the barrier had a list and checked us off it - not sure if Boardwalk are that cautious to allow non-diners to park.

We always have a walk around the lake and catch a boat for the round trip ride to Y&BC, S&D and HS. Hired a Surrey bike last year when our daughter and granddaughter joined us but at 70+ we were a liability rather than asset when it came to the two "hills" over the bridges.

I think the location and timing of the evening jugglers and magicians is fairly random. Usually some near the Disney shop.

One possibility is to leave the car at HS and take the Friendship boat to BW, or walk along the path at the side of the waterway. Between 10 and 20 minutes walking depending on speed.

I've not heard of that tactic before, but it would certainly work - it's a short walk to the Swan Dolphin and Boardwalk.
