Purely on price is Publix much more expensive than Walmart? On our first trip last year we asked our neighbour at our villa where was best to go and she just said that Publix was expensive.

Publix - I want my fruit and veg to last. Walmart had terrible fresh food last time we went. However I will give the new one on Lake Wilson Road a try and see what it's like.

Target is amazing for board games. If you're ever in FL and rained in etc, the BoardGame selection at Target is beyond anything back here; Carcassonne, Catan, Ticket to Ride, Splendor etc. If you don't know these games have a look at boardgamegeek.com
Fantastic family games that are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than monopoly! |

Prefer publix for food. Don't mind a look around Wal-Mart, although OH isn't keen.
Went to the mall on Saturday, everyone trying to squirt you with perfume (potential mother's day gifts?) Got really fed up with saying no thank you. But then again, I'm not keen on shopping 😲 |

I asked about Winn Dixie on this recent thread. It sounds pretty good.

I go to Whole Foods, at home and in Florida. I find Publix (especially near Disney) very expensive. Same for the Winn Dixie on 192 east of Disney. I think the problem is these cater to tourists and increase their prices. It might be worth the time to travel a bit out of the tourist areas and see what prices are like.
