I was super loyal to EE for an awfully long time. I used to work for Orange so had staff discounts etc. Over time this went away and they have no real interest in retention - I wasn't looking to be greedy but it got to the point where it just didn't compare to becoming a new customer elsewhere.

Switched to three on a sim only and haven't looked back. It's just the wee things (at one point this was super useful) being able to roam across the world without it being an overpriced extra and the amount of data you get for your money. I wasn't ever really massive on using data but it was because it cost me a fortune to do stuff. I would usually have to download songs on my phone so that I wasn't streaming, had to stop automatically downloading images on my emails etc.
I feel spoiled! No need to worry about those things anymore, especially since my plan has Netflix streaming and Apple Music streaming included.
I strongly suggest to quite a few people to jump ship, loyalty only gets you so far. I'm not against a return to EE in the future but only if it was remotely comparable would I go.

I am with EE (was Orange before) and not a problem.
Some places in London has a bad signal including Clapham but EE seems to work best there according to signal tester
Before I retired by work blackberry/iPhone was Vodafone and I often struggles for signal with Vodafone when my EE was showing 4G and full bars.
Only downside is one of the EE shop staff are poor - but their text and phone customer care has been outstanding and, IME, made up for that shortfall
EE also give free calls (data etc too) in the USA back to the UK with swappable Which has saved me a fortune over the years
