Furnace Creek Ranch?
Hi, would really like to spend one night in Death Valley in September and so it looks like our only option is Furnace Creek Ranch, but the reviews aren't great. Has anybody stayed there and can tell me what they thought of it.

We've stayed there a few years ago. Pool was amazing, the whole area is stunning! Our room was basic but ok till I got into bed and someone had peed in it and obviously not told anyone. Thankfully there was a second bed in the room! We has a problem with geology students outside drinking till all hours. Apart from that it was great!

We stayed there 7 years ago. Basic however adequate for a one night stay. Not sure if Pussycat Doll is mixing up with The Inn as the pool at The Ranch is also basic (pictures of The Inn pool do look amazing)

We had a nice overnight stay there. It's so beautiful at sunset. Get yourself set up by the fire pit just at the entrance and watch the sun go down. It's gorgeous.

Thank you for the replies. I think we are going to drive on to Lone Pine and stay at the Dow Hotel, which has good reviews. There seems to be much better food choices there and it is a lot cheaper. Hopefully we will see everything we want to see in Death Valley during the day.

We stayed at the Motel part of the Dow Villa Hotel complex in April. The place was great - didn't venture much into the Hotel part but there were lots of historic photos there of John Wayne and other film stars who made movies around there in the Alabama Hills.
Lone Pine we loved - we only arrived there one afternoon and left the next morning but had a good walk round, never been anywhere like it! Had a lovely meal in the Totem Cafe - best ribs of a three week trip! The sign to Death Valley is not far up the road, we spent the following day driving across it to Las Vegas. Death Valley was amazing to see - don't miss Zabriskie Point!

Thanks got that tweety-pie, it's a motel room that we've booked, nearly half the price of Furnace Creek Ranch. Lone pine sounds like a place we will love, ive made a note of the cafe and the ribs

Carolynne, you won't be disappointed. We stayed in Motel style rooms in six different places on our trip and this was the best one.
