No luck from my insurance. I have however now received my refund from florida escapes for our universal tickets, I got a confirmation on Friday and the money went into my account today.

I'm waiting to hear from Florida Escapes about our 5 Universal tickets as we can't go next year. With Netflights (BA flights) and Florida Escapes we have over £4500 tied up at the moment. Staysure ins, we're not covered. Lesson learnt, book direct.
How have others fared with these companies?

Communication with florida escapes initially was very poor and stated no refunds to go through insurance which their website still states. However eventually they did agree to a refund minus 10% provided I send back tickets and would take 8 weeks minimum. I sent my tickets back middle of June and today received the refund. Total paid initially was £1041 refund amount was £963.99 - I'm happy to have it back. A bit of advice I wish I had of had is when emailing about a refund they generally take a while to get back to you but I have found they do reply within a few days. They must have staff working though as when you send a general email nothing to do with refunds they reply straight away.

We’ve managed to get a bit of a dialogue going with them now and I think (fingers crossed) we will be getting a refund minus 10% admin charge. Given we spent £2600 on tickets it’ll be a relief to get the majority of it back. Not counting my chickens until the money is in the bank though!

My claim through the insurance has been approved. Should get payment (minus £100 excess) back in 5 days.

I'm happy. Won't buy from florida escapes again though.

Got paid the claim. £960 back on £1060 tickets. That's nationwide flex plus insurance. Very happy.

Update.
I've sent my Universal tickets back to Florida Escapes today, £1360 worth. As others have said, refund will be less 10% in 8-12 weeks.
Money on cc from Netflights so I'm getting there.
