A Wedding in Disney or maybe...

So attempting to plan our wedding. We got together on New Year and we was thinking that this would be a good time. The only problem is, we wanted to go to the Dominican Republic for our wedding and its going to cost a lot for people to go. So we thought about early in the year sometime.

Has anyone ever been to a wedding in the Dominican or somewhere similar? If so, was it good? We got engaged there so it is the reason for wanting to return and we know it could be done quite cheaply also. However we also know it can be very expensive depending on the way things work out.

or should we change our destination for our wedding? any ideas? we wanted to fly on to new york or somewhere similar. We also know a lot of people are hoping to save to go to florida in our family and so it may be beneficial to go there.

Any ideas?

I'm really stuck and my other half is just like. Eh, I'll go anywhere and shrugs his shoulders...

I don't know much about anywhere else but florida but just make sure it's the day you want and you don't choose your destination to fit in around your guests x

It's just so hard. I don't even know where to start. We are trying to compare all three prices but there are little extra add ons that we didn't even know about. At first I thought it was going to be cheap for Dominican but its turning out just as expensive as a disney wedding..

We have it easy because we've decided to be naughty and elope to Disney... I agree with what Tabz said though, just go with your gut instinct. Do lots of research though- it really is worth it!

The escape package is great value in my opinion, but the memories package is perfect for an elopement

I didn't do much comparison to a UK wedding as we were always going to be going abroad, it was just where we chose. We researched australia, cypress, greece, italy, hawaii, fiji, you name it i looked for it and i couldn't find anything that had comparable value to an escape package with what you were getting for your money

Our problem is we have big families and although we don't mind who comes and who doesn't, we know people will be upset if they can't come for whatever reason :/ but we have always said abroad so that's what we will stick to.
