I just chuck whatever veg is available in a big pot, boil, 2/3 stock cubes and off we go. I tehen whizz it up as I prefer it smooth.

Tesco's soup mix pack is £1 and I really like that. A good hearty soup.

Are you putting too much water in?

I use stock pots rather than water and cubes. Also put less liquid in that recipe states - easier to add than remove!

I use oxo low salt chicken and/or veg stock cubes. Give a fantastic flavour.

Carrot and pepper soup soup - chop onion and 2 peppers (red/orange/yellow - not green pepper) - roast or fry til soft, put in pan with 4 large chopped carrots and one large chopped potato, pour in stock, simmer til soft (20-30 min) blitz with stick blender

Never tried the stock pots, I use knorr chicken cubes or Marigold Swiss bouillon, like you I add liquid as and when needed, that's why I didn't get on with the soup maker, just as easy in a pan .will give the stock pots a go .
My favourite is Green soup
Celery
Onion
Leek
Asparagus
Frozen peas
Blitzed .

Aah that’s a shame.
Pea and Ham here at the weekend, I blitzed the freezer the other day and found far too many half used bags of frozen peas so I’ll put them to good use
