I will follow this thread as I have booked too! Going in December, staying three nights in Boston then four nights in New York. All my friends are in shock I'm going somewhere other than Disney!

We went in 2016 and our sons were 14, 11 and 6 at the time - we felt safe the whole time apart from I felt a bit uneasy on Times square - we were approached by what felt like 100s of people on a small stretch which wasn't nice with a small child in tow.

We liked the High Line and also took photos outside Monica, Rachel, Chandler and Joeys apartment block and the Flat Iron. The Flat Iron was next to a good Lego store which my boys loved. We also have pictures from Wall Street where George Washington was sworn in as the First President - lots of places we stumbled across by accident.

Another good thing to do is walk across the Brooklyn Bridge (we only walked half way).

I highly recommend walking the whole bridge. Start in Brooklyn, have an explore around DUMBO and take some cool skyline pics from the right-side of the bridge, then cross it back into Manhattan.

You’ve got to do the rockettes show,if you are going in December. We absolutely loved it,on our girls trip, when we visited in Dec & I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Another thing I always recommend is The Ride.I have done it twice now, with different friends & family & we have all thoroughly enjoyed it!
I love NY

Are you catching the AMTRAC from Boston to NY? Being 4 hours and a bit from the centre of Boston (Boston S) to Penn, It will be quicker (and cheaper) than a lift to Boston International, Check In, Security, call forward, flight, baggage reclaim and then journeying from one of Laguardia, JFK or Newark to Manhattan. For 4 of us, it was around $180 this summer.

Much more comfortable than a plane also.

We are staying near the Rockerfeller so planned to do:

Top of the Rock
Empire state
Liberty and Ellis Island
Times Square (mostly for shopping I imagine)
Central Park and the zoo
My OH is a huge ghostbusters fan so will go and see the firehouse etc.
Ground Zero and the 9/11 museum
Grand Central station
Brooklyn promenade and Brooklyn bridge
Didnt like Times Square, like Picadilly circus and full of tourists and not great places to eat! One thing to add is Chelsea Market, great Tacos there! A bit like Borough Market.

There are a few people in Times Square that try to hand you cds and then they ask for money for them or they are dressed in costumes charging money from pictures, try to avoid these and don’t take anything from them.

I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time, we loved Central Park, I think that was one of the highlights for me.

Came across CD people in Hollywood, avoid then like the plague!
