We went to Duinrell in The Netherlands last Easter and that was fab. Great little theme park and a waterpark on site, close to great beaches etc and then we went to Amsterdam for a few days too - a wonderful break, I'd highly recommend.

Friends have done some very reasonable holidays via Brittany Ferries, French caravan park style. We've done Haven sites in the UK a couple of times, we love WestQuay in mid Wales. Dutch or Belgian Center Parcs are good and much cheaper than UK equivalents.

Menorca is not really an all inclusive island (insofar as you fall over them on Ibiza and Majorca). Sure, you will find them at the busier areas) but it is muuuch quieter than the others. The big chains such as Sol will run full board but I cant recommend any all inclusives as we have never really looked for quality ones, nor felt the need for one. We have been going back for years and have stopped at a few places on the island. Cala Galdana has the best beach IMHO but very little night life outside the three main hotels, the town pretty much closes at 11pm which suits us perfectly. The sol hotel was excellent when we stopped last about 5 years ago, however it is eyewateringly expensive since they upgraded to a Melia. The audax was adult only and predominantly german, cala galdana hotel was always in the middle. Cala galdana gardena is a real gem, cheap but clean.
The main draw is the beach and gentle sloping sea. Plenty of sea life in the bay too, we snorkel with the girls and regularly see small rays, octopus and variety of fish. Have a look around trip advisor for reviews, there will be very few bad ones. Edited at 11:20 PM. |

As well of some of the good suggestions above, we found staying in youth hostels a surprisingly lovely family holiday (some great locations and beautiful properties), also driving to France and staying in a gite in Normandy or Brittany or somewhere near a beach.

We've done PGL family holidays in UK and France (including 2 days in DLP) for just around £1200 including food and activities for 2a & 2c. Would highly recommend as long as you don't mind sleeping in bunk beds - it is family en suite rooms though not a big shared room!

We booked a week in southern France last week for 2 adults and 3 children. The flights were £80 each for August and were thinking of booking a eurocamp. Just over £1,000 but it's for 5 people.

Cornwall is beautiful! In the right weather you could forget you’re in the uk, not so great in the rain though 😬
