Avis reclaim success - but a long wait...

I was mis-charged for fuelling on our September visit.

It took me a while to do a proper check (prompted by a Dibb thread, inevitably) and I saw that my credit card had been hit from Avis.

I used the preferred app and sent a message querying the charge on 9th October. I deliberately didn’t chase it up.

Finally, on 7th January I received a response and a subsequent refund.

Whether or not these are deliberate or accidental charges at least Avis will do the right thing, if eventually...

I always keep the receipt from the garage near the drop off when I fill the vehicle now, and also a photo of the fuel gauge.

I've had one dispute with Avis (booked through BA) - Avis USA were terrible in dealing with it- I booked Chevvy Tahoe - they gave me 7 seat van after a 45 minute wait, and did not think I was due any refund, and allocated me a paltry refund. BA then took this up with Avis when I came home and were brilliant - got very decent refund.

I sadly paid cash at the final gas station. Had over the full line when handed back, they still charged me. Fighting with them now.
