Has anyone booked with Disney and then had to split booking into 2 separate stays?

As title says, we might have to change our (3 of us) booking in Aug as DD needs a big operation.

At the moment we're thinking 2 could go beginning of July once exams end and then 1 could go on original date at end of August. (We're also meeting up with other DD for the Aug one)

So has anyone done this? We're on QSDP as well, implications? Or do we keep Aug for 1 and do a new booking for 2 in July?
Thoughts please.

You can�t really split a booking like that and keep free dining. You can amend dates and resorts but that�s all really. One would have to be a new booking under the free nights offer.

Thanks, we thought as much. We're just mulling over our options as we've only just had the hospital appointment last week. Fortunately we haven't booked our flights yet!
