My late Father in law was in his local Dad's Army with his father, he always said he was Pike. He said the less fanciful bits were very realistic.
I've watched it so many times I can say a lot of the lines with them.

Sadly it has been announced today that Ian Lavender who played Pike has dies aged 77

We did this one year as we were visiting friends, there is a bench near the river/canal where you can have photo taken. The museum is run by volunteers and very friendly.
