Anyone been to Brugges? Best time to get off ship to get return shuttle

Hi were going to Bruges end Aug looking to book the shuttle bus through Viator, anyone one done this? Have seen some good reviews also some bad ones saying they were queued for a very long time, which is expected with so many people. So was wondering is there a good time to get off the ship? We want to be back on ship after lunch or early pm so not a pm time.
Was thinking should we try to get off about 8.30/9am or leave it an hour or so later?
Thanks

The ship is likely to run shuttles to the nearby trainstation, it's then only 5 euro or so into Bruges.

(We went with P&O - Ventura).

They had shuttles to and from the trainstation all day - booked shuttles to Bruges itself were about £35

Zeebrugge / Bruges is one of my ports on my Disney September 2020 cruise, would love some tips and what to do and see info. I cant find a Personal Navigator so it looks like this is a new port for Disney

We caught the shuttle bus when we visited Bruges a few years ago. We left the ship straight after breakfast, so it would have been about 9.30 ish and didn't have to queue at all. It was a very simple process.
As for what is there to do in Bruges, I would just have a wonder around, it’s a lovely place to visit.

When we stopped in Bruges we did an excursion through the cruise line- it was about £50pp however it included transport into town, a walking tour, a boat tour and 3hrs of free time. We thought it was excellent value for money and that we got much more out of the tours than we would have just walking around on our own.

In the 3hrs on our own we visited loads of chocolate shops, ate waffles (go to Chez Albert just off the square) and ended up in the French Fries museum as it started raining. It was very kitsch and fun!
