We are in Orlando now and flying home tomorrow. Haven't been on the Dibb for a couple of weeks. We are flying BA, haven't heard anything by email about our flights at all. Assumed all was fine as Dorian not expected for a few days still?

No problem, it's a bit generic, but better than nothing!

Just had a fb message from TC that they are still flying out over the weekend and are in contact with MCO for daily updates, airport closures etc.

A lot will depend on what the airports in Florida decide to do closer to when Dorian is due to hit land. (You can't fly planes into closed airports).

Thinking back to Irma, MCO closed at 5:30pm on the 9th September & Irma hit land on the 10th.

Virgin, BA & Thomas Cook all bought their flight schedules forward to get the aircraft out by 5:30pm. In the case of Virgin they flew 3 empty aircraft out to MCO to make the early return flights.

A friend who was flying BA from Gatwick on Monday has been moved to Sunday (same flight as us) so hopefully that means they don't (yet) plan to cancel Sundays flight.
