Father Christmas visit in south of England
Apologies for discussion on Christmas but... my daughter who will be turn 9 in November is still a believer we’ve been lucky enough to do uk Lapland to visit Father Christmas twice and that is an incredibly authentic and immersive experience. I’m looking for something this year which will also look and feel authentic, but at a small price tag! I was wondering about national trust properties- any experience?

Not sure if you are near the Bluebell railway, but they do Santa Special’s, which my grandson enjoyed immensely. Something a bit different from the norm.

I was going to say the Bluebell santa specials!
I went with a friend and her family last year, the train ride good, Santa comes round on the train, then there’s a little old timey fair on at the other end (where they can visit Santa’s grotto) then they hop on the train back! There used to be another similar Santa train type thing I think it was the watercress line or something?

I really struggle with Santa visits after being in Florida to visit Santa each year until DS turned 5. I find most santas aren't the real deal!
I have heard that the bluebell is a very good experience. Some say chessington world of adventure but I'm not sure. Also Hever castle is suppose to be lovely. Last year we went to our local garden centre which was a nice experience but DS knew he was just a helper and not the real deal...

Try Longbarn in Alresford.
Everyone I know with young children raves about it. We’ve done the Watercress Line which is just ok. Not very magical.
