News Channel here suggesting Monday / Tuesday at the moment but will be clearer tomorrow. We fly out sat late night so your flight is likely to be on at the moment

I am due to fly on Tuesday at 5pm if my flight gets cancelled due to the weather will they inform us? Is that likely to be via email?

Depends who you are flying with.
For some airlines you can set up alerts to your phone

Looks like around morning/ lunch Monday it could hit, if it does.

I wouldn't be concerned too much in Orlando, it's the coast where you have to be more bothered. Vero is potentially in the direct path, I imagine fellow DVC members may move to WDW if it does continue in that path. It's expected to strengthen a bit, hopefully not much.

Stay safe Monday folks if it does head towards Orlando. I've seen some good advice on here including getting some non perishable supplies in, but don't worry you are in the best place- Disney always has looked after it's guests in exemplary fashion in similar circumstances in the past

I'm keeping my finger's crossed it will veer North as some models still predict it could do.

Keep us updated if you have time.

Stay safe everyone! Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Dorian doesn’t bother us too much 🤞🏼

Looks like I was right about Vero- hopefully no fellow DVC Dibbers were there, but its being made an evacuation zone and weather channel are filming there. Hopefully it will miss and if it hits, there will not be much damage to the DVC (and other properties!).

Edit I do not want to panic anyone and everyone will be fine in Orlando, but the outlook is looking worse with it potentially hitting Cat 4 as it hits land but it will be down to about 1 if it hits Orlando, but even so, stay safe Monday everyone!

And this is a very good and reassuring article for anyone worried:

CNN is saying 2pm Tuesday now it hits the coast, moving really slow.

MCO is closed for ALL flights from 2am on Monday. No opening date yet.

We are due to fly to Washington on Wed at 17:30 - no idea if we will or not at the moment.

Walmarts earlier was stripped of water, still plenty of beer so it's not a real emergency just yet. ;-)

It’s now hit Cat 4 with 140mph wind. It could hit the Bahamas bad. It’s still looking like if it hits the East Coast it will then divert up. The East Coast could be really badly hit, but they are all evacuated.
Good news is even if it does head into Orlando it is still predicted by that stage to be Cat 1 which is like the one that hit U.K. that time- and we don’t have hurricane buildings.

YT. As you say a bit of a guessing game currently. Fingers crossed it skirts the coast but there again the coast is so vulnerable anyhow.

We met a couple we know two days ago. Both well into their 70's and they have now gone home terrified. Thankfully they own in Naples so should be fine but there again nobody knows. They have an ocean front ground floor apartment
